Dean Brian Abbott

Dean B. Abbott (74) of Durand, WI passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Dove Healthcare West in Eau Claire, WI. He was born April 8, 1940; son of Clare and Florence (Lindstrom) Abbott. He graduated from Durand High School. Following graduation he attended UW-Stout where he received his teaching degree. Dean married Wanda Lampman at the RLDS Church in Porcupine on August 4, 1962. Wanda died September 1, 2008. Dean taught shop classes at the Pepin schools, later he became Principal and then Superintendent. He farmed at Abbott's Acres for over thirty years and also worked at Goodrich Furniture and Funeral Home. Over the years Dean taught many of the area residents Driver's Education. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards and golfing.
He is survived by his children, Lon (Lynn) Abbott of Durand, WI, Kerry Abbott of Arkansaw, WI, Kelly (Ron) Weisenbeck of Eau Galle, WI, Sandy (Mark) Jessen of Oronoco, MN; grandchildren, Jeremy Abbott, Kara & Kayla Abbott, Brittany (Jason) Karshbaum & Brianne (Cody) Stallman, Jordan & MacKenzie Jessen; great-grandson, Bennett Karshbaum; sisters-in-law, Myrle Supri and Norma King , both of Durand, WI; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; parents, Clare and Florence (Lindstrom) Abbott; brother, Jerome Abbott.
A visitation will be held Monday, March 2, 2015 from 4:00 -6:00 with a prayer service to follow at 6:00 pm at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand. Burial will be at a later date in Forest Hill Cemetery in Durand. To express on-line condolences, visit obituaries at www.goodrichfh.com
