Dennis Schruth Obituary
Dennis Errol Schruth (77) of Pepin, WI died Monday, December 30, 2013 at St. Elizabeth's Health Care Center in Wabasha, MN. He was born December 17, 1936 in Pepin, WI; son of Glen and Myrtle (Whaley) Schruth. He graduated from Pepin High School in 1955. Following graduation Dennis served in the United States Navy.
On June 24, 1961 he married Joan Bogert in LaCrosse, WI. He was employed by Northern WI Manufacturing Co. in Pepin, WI where he served as secretary/ treasurer. He was a member of the Durand/Pepin Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, York Rite and Zor Shrine.
Dennis was an avid trout fisherman and loved to hunt, he also loved to travel, especially in the mountains. But most of all, he loved to spend time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Schruth of Pepin, WI; son, Curtis (Becky Freemal) Schruth of Roanoke, VA; daughter, Tracy (Charles) Wilson of Seal Beach, CA; grandson, Henry and James Schruth of Roanoke, VA; granddaughter, Nora Wilson of Seal Beach, CA; brother, Terry Schruth of Pepin, WI; brother-in-law, Roland (Pam) Bogert of Onalaska, WI; sister-in-law, Mildred (Ken) Wanninger of Ft. Atkinson, WI. He is preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Myrtle (Whaley) Schruth.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Pepin United Methodist Church with Pastor Lisa Weaver officiating. Burial with Military rites will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin. Friends may call Friday from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm with a 7:30 pm Masonic service at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
