Evelyn Lindstrom Obituary
Evelyn Mae Lindstrom (93) of Durand died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at the Oakview Care Center in Durand, WI. She was born December 30, 1920 in Canton Township, Buffalo County, WI; daughter of Martin and Emma (Christianson) Johnson. She attended a small country school in North Branch. On March 24, 1941 Evelyn married Victor Lindstrom in the Little Brown Church in Decorah, Iowa. They farmed in Maxville Township until 1971. After their retirement they enjoyed traveling together.
Evelyn was a very involved member of Lyster Lutheran Church. She was a member of Rebecca's circle. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, word searches and playing cards. She loved to spend time with family, especially with her grandchildren. Evelyn will be remembered for her concern for others.
She is survived by her sons, Gary (Diane) Lindstrom of Durand, WI, Randy (Becky) Lindstrom of Durand, WI; daughters, Karen (Sam) Schroeder of Pepin, WI, Janet (Lyle) Pelke of Colfax, WI; daughter-in-law, Julie Lindstrom of Durand, WI; 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Jesse Franswa of River Falls, WI, Irene Johnson of Eau Claire, WI, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor Lindstrom; son, Steven Lindstrom; grandson, Chad Lindstrom. 2 sisters Alice (Riley) Smith, Agna (Adoph) Ness, and 3 brothers Silas (Eunice) Johnson, Marvin Johnson, Wallace (Evelyn) Johnson; brothers-in-law Durwood Franzwa, Alvin "Jack" Lindstrom, John (Angie) Lindstrom, sisters-in-law Christine (Clarence) Walter, Florence (Clare) Abbott, Olive (Earl) Stewart, Idell (Melvin) Johnson, Ruby (Ed) Walmsley, Leona (Edmund) Grippen and infant Evelyn Lindstrom.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2014 at the Lyster Lutheran Church in rural nelson. Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date. Friends may call Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at e Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
