Gladys Cataract Obituary
Gladys Irene Cataract (91) of Nelson, WI died Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Pepin Manor in Pepin, WI. She was born June 10, 1922 in Porcupine Valley, Frankfort Township, Pepin County, WI; daughter of Oliver and Hazel Stewart Bignell. She attended Sunny Brook School. On March 23, 1946 she married Claude Cataract. They farmed in the Sunny Brook area. Gladys enjoyed spending time outdoors working in her garden.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Lemke (Kevin Plein) of Winona, MN; daughters-in-law, Valerene Cataract of Durand, WI, Donna Cataract of Eau Claire, WI ; many grandchildren and great grandchildren ; sister, Doris Johnson of Rapid Falls, WI. She is preceded in death by her husband, Claude Cataract; infant daughter, Betty Jean; sons, Donald, George and Kenneth Cataract; parents, Oliver and Hazel Stewart Bignell; brothers, Percy, Harold, Ernest, Wilford and Lester Bignell; sisters, Martha Taylor and Myrtle Cataract.
A Memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand, WI on Friday, February 7, 2014 with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m with Pastor Paul Langmade officiating. To express condolences on-line, please visit obituaries at www.goodrichfh.com
