Olive A. Ganoe (102) of Arkansaw, WI passed away Friday, June 10, 2016 at the Plum City Care Center. She was born February 16, 1914 in Frankfort Township, Pepin County, WI; daughter of William and Annie (Dahlberg) Moline. Olive attended Durand High School and River Falls Teachers College.
On June 21, 1939 she married Graydon Ganoe at the Pepin Hill Free Church. Following marriage they farmed in the Arkansaw community. She taught school for 17 years, primarily in country schools. Following retirement from teaching she assisted her husband with insurance. Olive loved music. While never having had lessons, she would play the piano and was a talented singer. She often sang during church services and at weddings and funerals. She enjoyed doing needlework and puzzles.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathryn (Gerald) Drier of Arkansaw; three grandchildren, Lori (Luke) Schmidt of Minneapolis, MN, Jeff Drier of Altoona, WI, and Steven Drier of Menomonie, WI , and one great granddaughter, Madeline Schmidt. She is also survived by one sister, Edna Thomas of New Richmond, WI, sister-in-law, Dorothy Moline of Andover, MN; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; sisters, Rubye Sobol, Ethel Peterson, Dorothy Krynski ; two brothers, Leslie and Raymond and one grandson, Michael Drier.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Community of Christ Church in Arkansaw with Pastors Glenn and Rose Peterson officiating. Burial will be at Arkansaw Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand is assisting the family.
