Robert Linse Obituary
Robert A. Linse, 67, passed away unexpectedly at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Wabasha, MN on August 3, 2013. He was born November 21, 1945 in Durand, WI to Wallace and Alice (Anderson) Linse. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Modena, WI. He grew up in rural Buffalo County and attended school in both Urne and Durand, WI. He later served honorably in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. While home on leave from the Navy he met the love of his life, Pamela Johnson and on December 30, 1967 they were united in marriage at Sabylund Lutheran Church. Bob and Pam lived several years in the Durand area before moving to their little hobby farm near Lund, WI.Bob was a jack of trades and worked several different jobs, including a meat cutter, a heavy equipment operator, a logger working on dams with the Corp of Engineers, and for the final 26 years until retirement with Dairyland Power in Alma, WI.
While Pam was still able they enjoyed going on trips and weekend get a ways with the highlight of their journeys being a trip to Hawaii and visit their son Darin.Bob was an avid sportsman and went on many hunting and fishing trips but always looked forward to his annual Lake Michigan trips with his brother Don most of all. He enjoyed motorcycling, snowmobiling and passing on his knowledge of meat processing and sausage making to his son Ryan and his friends. He was also a big fan of the Packers and Badgers.He was a member of Sabylund Lutheran Church, Maiden Rock American Legion Post #158, Alma Rod and Gun Club, Pepin Sportsman Club and the Pepin Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Pamela; his sons, Ryan (Renee) of Maiden Rock, WI; Darin (Francia) of the United Arab Emirates; his grandchildren, Tristan and Alicanne of Maiden Rock and Kaden of the United Arab Emirates; brother, Don (Carol) Linse of Algoma, WI; mother and father-in-law, Willard and Maxine Johnson; brother-in-law, Lynn (Katie) Johnson; special aunt, Audrey Johnson; close friend and Ryan and Darin's "other uncle" Terry Koss of Mondovi, WI along with many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Alice (Anderson) Linse; sister, Clarice Linse and numerous aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, August 9, 2013 at Sabylund Lutheran Church in Lund, WI with Pastor Susan Odegard officiating. Pall bearers are Preston Johnson, Joe Komisar, Kevin Kosok, James Sterry, Ron Meixner, Robert Carothers, Mark Brovold and Brian Michaels. Burial with military rites by Maiden Rock American Legion Post # 158 will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call 4:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
