Sherry Dale Dahl (76) of Arkansaw died Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Oakview Care Center in Durand, WI. She was born June 17, 1937 in Arkansaw, WI; daughter of Vernon and Ruth (Doughty) Herbst. She grew up in the Arkansaw community, graduating with the Arkansaw High School Class of 1955. After graduation she attended Methodist Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, MN, graduating in 1958. While in Rochester, Sherry had the honor of working in surgery with Dr. Charles Mayo.
In 1958 she married Dennis Dahl at Arkansaw Methodist Church. Sherry worked as a RN for nearly fifty years, retiring from Myrtle Werth Medical Center (now Mayo Health Systems) in Menomonie, WI. Sherry enjoyed bowling, playing cards, gambling and shopping. She enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and following the local high school teams.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Dahl of Arkansaw; daughter, Jodie (Mike) Anderson of Arkansaw; son, J.D. (Deb) Dahl of Plum City; grandchildren, Matthew M., Matthew D., Vincent Anderson of Arkansaw, Jozlyn H. Anderson of White Bear Lake, MN, Justin (Sarah) Hewitt of Arkansaw, Mandie Hewitt of Plum City, Megan Dahl of Plum City; great-grandchildren , Kailee Broeckert, Brayden Hewitt, Hudson & Kaison Hewitt; brothers, Brent (Jackie) Herbst, Scott (Sandy) Herbst; special cousin/sister, Judy Harmon; many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Ruth Herbst; infant brother, Brad; son, Gregory Dahl; special uncle, Troy Herbst.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 on Friday, September 20, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Arkansaw, WI. Pastor Lisa Weaver and Chaplain Art Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Arkansaw Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
