Dennis Waldo Kern

Dennis Waldo Kern, 79, of Mounds View, MN died Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN. He was born August 20, 1944 in Pepin County, WI; son of Waldo and Arlotte (Hill) Kern.

He attended Durand High School. Following school Dennis joined the United States Air Force.

On June 25, 1966 he married Judy Bignell at the United Methodist Church in Durand. In 1967, they moved to Racine, where Dennis worked for Acme Diecasting. They moved to St. Paul, MN in 1979. Dennis worked in maintenance at Water Gremlin in White Bear Lake for over thirty years.

He enjoyed playing cards, horse shoes, shuffle board and telling jokes. He loved to spend time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and his two great granddaughters.

He is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Bruce (Donna) Kern of Durand, WI, Bobbi (Dan) Caneff of Chippewa Falls, WI, Dean (Jamie) of Circle Pines, MN; seven grandchildren, Deanna (Zack), Devon (fiancé, Maddie), Jacob (fiancé, Vannessa), Emily, Elijah (fiancé, Teairah), James, and Alex; two great granddaughters, Peyton and Harper; honorary children, Ross, Barb, Troy and Catherine; step-sisters, Joyce Colstrum, Carol Doughty, Jeanette Ruff; and step-brother, Maynard Anderson

He is preceded in death by his parents, Waldo and Arlotte (Hill) Kern, brother, Stanley Kern; step-mom, Ida Anderson Kern.

Services are being planned for a later date.
