Arlene Marie Wahlund

Arlene Marie Wahlund (85) of Pepin, WI died Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Pepin Manor in Pepin, WI. She was born December 9, 1927 in Buffalo County, WI; daughter of Albert and Mary Serum Larson. On November 27, 1947, she married Merlin Wahlund while he was serving in the U.S. Army in Indianapolis, IN. They lived all their married life in Pepin. Arlene worked as a waitress and caregiver. She was baptized and confirmed at Lyster Lutheran Church in rural Nelson and was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pepin. She enjoyed baking cookies and pies and spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Merlin Wahlund; daughter, Linda (Lon) Meixner; son Larry (Diane) Wahlund, all of Pepin, WI; five grandchildren, Aaron (Mary), Amy (Terry), Brian (Rachel), Jason (Sarah) and Joleen (Mike); eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Myrna Bucholtz of Durand, WI and Charlotte Wild of Milwaukee, WI. She is preceded in death by her parents; in-laws; sisters, Alvina Brantner, Leone Larson, Lenore Hagness; brother, Wayne Larson; nieces and nephews.



Memorial services will be 11:00 am Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pepin with Pastor Karna Marks officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin.
