Arne S. Renz Jr.
Arne Stanford Renz Jr. (91) of Arkansaw, WI died Thursday, February 11, 2016 at his home. He was born April 1, 1924 in Chimney Rock, Trempealeau Co., WI; first child born to Arne and Marie (Davis) Rene. He attended Bennett Valley School. Following school he worked on the family farm. On August 11, 1942 he married Elaine, and they had five children. They later divorced.
In 1944 he was drafted into the United States Army, served in the Philippine Islands, and was honorably discharged in 1946. Arne married Ardith Y. (Smith) Marek in 1964 and they had two daughters, Diana and Jennifer.
He owned and operated Renz Trucking & Excavating. In his free time, Arne enjoyed spending it with his friends during happy hour having an ice cold Schmidt beer and playing shuffle board. He also enjoyed his many summer camping trips with very close friends and family. Arne was a wonderful Grandfather and even better Great-Grandfather and he will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his children, Elwood, Larry, Diana, Jennifer, Kathleen, Betty and Duane; grandchildren,Rhonda, Scott, Shannon, Brandon, Josette, Kim, Aubrey, Kelsey, Denise, Mark and Michelle; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Arlene, Yvonne and Roy. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ardith; brother, Floyd and sister, Carol.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, February 15, 2016 at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand with Pastor Dan Richardson officiating. Military honors will be presented by Durand American Legion Post #181. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Monday.
