Beverly Jean Norwick

Beverly Jean Norwick, age 86, of Durand WI, passed away peacefully in
her home on June 12, 2019. "Bev" was born on August 25, 1932 to
parents Elmer and Francis Hegna, of Cameron WI.
At the young age of 8, she was stricken with polio and consequently
lost the use of her right arm. Bev spent two years at an orthopedic
school in Eau Claire, WI before returning home to complete her formal
education. She then attended vocational school and became a
secretary at Stinn Motor in Rice Lake WI. It was there she met and later
married her husband, Harvey Norwick, in 1954. Harvey's employment
brought them to Durand, where they purchased their home. Harvey
died suddenly from a heart attack in 1975.
Bev continued to live in the home until her passing. Her close friends
Darlene Bauer, Linda Henry and neighbor Leona Gruber were the
"angels" who made that possible. Bev learned to drive following the
death of her husband. She was very grateful to Don Konsela, who for
many years personally picked up and returned her car for service and
repairs; and to Gary Brenner, for keeping the snow plowed and being
her "handyman". Bev's treat to herself was a trip to the "Hair Hut"
each week. In unfavorable weather, these kind women would even pick
her up. "Meals on Wheels" and the delivery volunteers were welcome
and appreciated.
Bev is survived by her brother, Duane, and his wife, Carol Jean Hegna,
of Baraboo WI; a niece, Valerie(Mike) Holschbach, of Baraboo WI; and
their family, Brienne(Clay) Carlson, Mason, Elin and Isla, of Verona WI;
Chase Holschbach, of Baraboo WI; and Dr. Chelsea Holschbach, of
Madison WI.
Per her request, there will be no funeral service. A private burial will
take place at Forest Hill Cemetery in Durand.
