Charles Hetrick Obituary

Charles Earl Hetrick (85) of Pepin, WI died Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Pepin Health and Rehab in Pepin, WI. He was born September 18, 1929 in Pepin, WI; son of David and Evelyn (Steele) Hetrick. Following school he helped on the family farm. On October 23, 1950 Charles married Virginia Marcks in Wabasha, MN. He then served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Charles worked for the railroad until 1955, when he started working construction for Vern Seifert. He then worked 25 years at Nestle Purina in Hagar City, WI. He retired in 1994. He enjoyed baseball, fishing. Was an accomplished musician playing music by ear, playing the accordion, piano and harmonica and could fix anything with duct tape.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Hetrick of Pepin, WI; sons, Mark ( Dana) Hetrick of Pepin, WI, Jeff (Rae Ann) Hetrick of Durand, WI, Bob (Diane) Hetrick of Pepin, WI; daughter, Janene (Mitchell) Nelson of Stockholm, WI; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers, James (Geraldine) Hetrick, Everett (Kim) Hetrick, John (Aleeta) Hetrick, all of Pepin, WI; sisters, Marilyn (James) Fleming of Prescott, WI, Darlene (Darrel) Larson of Nelson, WI; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Ole Erickson; brother, Ronald Hetrick; daughter, Lynda Hetrick Meixner and grandson, Brent Hetrick.

A graveside service will be at 12:30 Friday, April 17, 2015 at Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin, WI with Pastor Lisa Weaver officiating. Burial with Military rites will be presented by the Durand American Legion Post # 181. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Pepin Sportsman Club from 1:00-5:00.
