Darrel R. Stewart, age 78, of Arkansaw, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home.
Darrel was born November 9, 1941 in Arkansaw; the son of Richard and Mary (Bignell) Stewart. He attended school in Porcupine and served in the National Guard. Growing up Darrel worked on the family dairy farm which he later bought and operated.
Darrel married Diane Maxwell on April 18, 1964 at the Arkansaw United Methodist Church. This union was blessed them with five children. Darrel enjoyed cheering on the Green Bay Packers, spending time with his dogs, and being on the farm.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Diane; sons, Tim (Cyndi) Stewart of Plum City, Tony Stewart (special friend Heidi) of Durand, and Travis (Annie) Stewart of Eau Claire; daughter, Tracy (Pete) Brown of Durand; a son-in-law, Dan Sam of Arkansaw; eight grandchildren, Katie, Matthew, and Blake Sam, Nelson Stewart, Jevin, Grayson, Kaitlyn, and Violet Stewart; one step-granddaughter, Sherry (Ezr) Stafford;one great-granddaughter, Madison Sam; three step-grandchildren, Desiree, Jaidin, and Wyatt Stafford; three brothers, Elwood, Richard, and Lawrence (Charolotte); three sisters, LaVina Herbst, Evelyn Keeler, and Catherine (Larry) Kraft; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Sam; grandson, Brett Sam; three brothers, Leonard, Nelson and James; and two sisters, Myrtle Price and Genevieve Schultz.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Friday, December 20, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Arkansaw with Pastor Lisa Weaver officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will be in the spring at the Porcupine Cemetery.. Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand is assisting the family.
