Dorothy Buchholtz Obituary
Dorothy Lillian Buchholtz (93) of Rock Falls, WI died Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home. She was born October 7, 1920 in Waterville, MN; daughter of William and Katherine (Kelm) Preuss. She attended school in Waterville and was confirmed at the Lutheran Church.
On February 18, 1939 she married Ben Buchholtz Sr. in Waterville, MN. In the early 40's they moved to a farm near Rock Falls, WI where they spent most of their married life. After raising her family, Dorothy worked as a nurse's aide at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, retiring in the mid 80's after approximately twenty years. In 1990 she made a profession of faith. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and visiting with family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Ben T. (Shirley) Buchholtz Jr.; daughter, Eileen Buchholtz , both of Rock Falls, WI; granddaughter, Pamela (Tom) Walker; grandsons, Ben Buchholtz III, Bill (Trina) Buchholtz Sr., Todd (Tina) Buchholtz; great granddaughters, Hannah (Nathan) Michael, Trista (Curtis) Bauer, Brittney Buchholtz; great grandsons, Daniel Walker, Matthew Walker, Bill Buchholtz Jr.; great-great granddaughters, Kylee Bauer, Berklee Buchholtz; great-great grandsons, Mason Bauer, Garret Bauer, Everett Kitchenmaster; nieces, Katherine Reed, Carol Fassett, Donna Buchholtz; nephews, Ed Berglund, Josh Buttke, Jake Buttke and Jepsun Buttke and many other family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ben T. Buchholtz, Sr.; son, William "Billy" Buchholtz; great grandsons, Seth Walker, Jonathan Walker; great-great granddaughter, Peyton Buchholtz; parents, William and Katherine (Kelm) Preuss; brother, Clarence Preuss; sisters, Grace Wood, Gladys Reed; brother-in-law, James Buchholtz.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, February 10, 2014 at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand, WI with Luther Raine and Jason Stein officiating.
