Duaine Tollefson Obituary
Duaine Omer Tollefson, 80, of Durand, WI passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Advent Health in Durand, WI. He was born February 12, 1939 in Whitehall, WI, the son of Art and Emma (Burgess) Tollefson.
On September 14, 1985 he married Linda Grippen at the Peace Lutheran Church in Pigeon Falls, WI.
He was a hard-working man who enjoyed helping other people. He loved working on farms and was very good at it. Duaine worked at Whitehall Packing Co. and retired after working 19 years at Ashley Corporation in Arcadia.
Duaine was kind and compassionate to everyone he met. He will be sadly missed by all. He liked to dance, travel, and go to casinos. His hobby was working with electronics.
Duaine is survived by his wife of 34 years, Linda; brothers, Romaine (Judy) of Galesville, WI; Jerome (Lois) of Fridley, MN; Robert (Kathi) of Eau Claire, WI; sisters, Elaine Niesche of St.Cloud, MN;Elly (Tom) McMahon of Eau Claire, WI and Godson, Doug (Traci) Tollefson of Strum, WI; sisters-in-law, Audrey, Pat, Dolly, Jane Jafferi of Durand, WI; brothers - in-law, Lee Grippen of Caledonia, MN and Kerry (Terry) Grippen of Niagara, WI; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Art and Emma Tollefson, brothers, Thomas, Andrew, Willard, Richard, Thorvald, Charles and Gary; two baby brothers; nephews, Roger, Kenny, Keven, Chris; nieces, Dawn and Shelley; brother-in-law, Don Niesche; sisters-in-law, Ruth, Evelyn, Phyllis and Mary.
Memorial services will be at 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Durand. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
