Eugene Ronnie Bock

Eugene "Gene" Ronnie Bock, age 73, of Durand, formerly of Lund, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand. He was born on June 16, 1944 in Plum City to Clifford and Vivian (Bock) Peterson. He grew up on his family's farm in Lund and graduated from Pepin High School in 1962. He farmed with his father and later took over the family dairy farm. Gene was united in marriage to Bonnie Ray on June 24, 1967 in River Falls. Together they welcomed two children: Jodi and Corey. Gene and Bonnie moved to Durand in 2013. Gene enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting guns and old signs, and logging with his friend, Marvin Anderson. He could always be recognized by his John Deere cap. He especially loved his grandchildren and was known as Papa. He will be dearly missed.

Gene is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bonnie Bock; daughter, Jodi Wieland of Durand; son, Corey (Kayann) Bock of Eau Claire; five grandchildren, Kylee, Cody, and Courtney Wieland, and Tristan and Makenna Bock; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Vivian Peterson; sister, Audrey (Frank) Enders; and his two cats, George and Fuzzy Grubby.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Durand with Pastor Grace Baldridge officiating. Visitation will be at church on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will take place at a later date at Marie Lund Cemetery.
