Floyd Wicklund Obituary
Floyd Vernel Wicklund (78) of Durand died Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand, WI. He was born March 19, 1935; son of Walfred and Agnes (Newstrom) Wicklund. He attended the 16th School House and graduated from Maiden Rock High School. Following high school Floyd worked on the Buford Wicklund farm in Prairie Du Sac, WI.
On September 10, 1955 he married Donna Leatherberry. They later divorced. Floyd worked many jobs throughout his life, including the Lund Feed Mill, Murphy's Feed and the Countryside Co-op. He was also a bus driver for the Pepin schools, volunteer firefighter for the Lund Fire Department and an auctioneer. On October, 18, 2003 he married Libbie Cockeram. Floyd enjoyed fishing, hunting, cribbage, cards, softball and dancing. He was also an avid Packers, Brewers and Badgers fan.
He is survived by his wife, Libbie Wicklund of Durand, WI; sons, Rodney (Linda) Wicklund of Ellsworth, WI, Randy (Sue) Wicklund of Elk River, MN, Rick (Dawn) Wicklund of Sun Prairie, WI; step-son, Anthony (Sue) Gluch of Neillsville, WI; grandchildren, Rodney, Jessica, Katie, Ashley, Amber, Taylor Wicklund, Heather (Ryan) Hines, Hannah (Anthony) Almaraz; step-grandchildren, Joshua (Andrea) Wren, Amy Wren; great-grandchildren, Walter, Maxim, Tucker, David, Micah, Jasmine, Aaliyah; brothers, Buford Wicklund, Dudley Wicklund; sister, Phyllis Halling. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walfred and Agnes (Newstrom) Wicklund; infant daughter, Rhonda; sister, Gladys Nichols; brothers, Willard, Clifford, Raymond and Howard Wicklund.
Memorial services will be 11:00 am Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Lund Mission Covenant Church in rural Lund, WI. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand is assisting the family.
