Gladys Marie Thompson (91) of Nelson, Wisconsin died Monday, October 15, 2012 at Oakview Care Center in Durand, Wisconsin. She was born January 2, 1921 in the Red Cedar area; daughter of Henry & Lillian (Nimmo) Lane. She attended Wabasha/ Kellogg schools in Minnesota along with North Branch school in Canton Township.
On August 3rd, 1939 she married Thomas M. Thompson at the Lyster Lutheran Parsonage. Together they farmed in Church Valley and raised their three sons. Thomas died on November 24, 1994. Gladys loved her lilac garden, Blue birds and her dog, Tippy. She was a loving and caring person who loved spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her sons, Larry, Marvin (Debbie) and David (Yvonne Levasseur) all of Nelson, WI; four granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Torgerson of Buffalo City, WI; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Lillian (Nimmo) Lane; husband, Thomas Thompson; brother, Fred Lane; sisters, Dorothy Patterson and Pearl Thiemann; daughter-in-law, Joan Thompson.
