Glen Herbert Erickson,96, of Plum City, WI died Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Plum City Care Center. He was born December 19, 1916 in rural Pierce County, WI; son of Harold and Laura (Bjurquist) Erickson. The family lived on Neirke Hill and later on the farm outside of Lund where Glen would reside the rest of his life. He attended the Neirke Hill School and the Number 16 School near Lund.
He married Lucille Powers in October of 1940 in Red Wing, MN. Together they saw many changes in farming, from milking by hand and working with horses and thrashers, to tractors and combines. They raised three children on the farm, Roger, Phyllis and Ron. Glen was known on the hill by many, for he was fond of visiting with neighbors. Also, he was the one to call when there were gophers to be trapped. Glen enjoyed all music, but was especially a fan of country music. He loved attending auctions and never returned without some treasure that had been a "good buy".
Glen was a member of the Mission Covenant Church in Lund. He had been a resident of the Plum City Care Center with Lucille until his passing. He is survived by his wife, Lucille of Plum City, WI; daughter, Phyllis Johnson of Ellsworth, WI; sons, Roger Erickson of Maiden Rock, WI and Ron (Kim) Erickson of Lund, WI; six grandchildren, Brent, Carmen, Lori, Randy, Janell and Jessica; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister, Hazel Larson of Hager City, WI; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Duane; sisters, Gladys Anderson and Pearl Garzee
Memorial Services will be 11:00 am Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Mission Covenant Church in Lund with Pastor Greg Satterberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date.
