Helen Byington Obituary

Helen Elizabeth Byington, 94, of Pepin, WI died Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Pepin Manor in Pepin, WI. She was born February 27, 1918 in Eau Galle Township, Dunn County, WI; daughter of George Ferdinand and Catherine Schafer Robelia. She attended the Eau Galle School.

On December 1, 1937 she married Ted Byington in Menomonie, WI. They lived in the Pepin area and Pepin most of their married life. She worked at the White House Café, Sass Nursing Home and the Pepin Hotel. Ted died November 23, 1967. Helen was a volunteer worker for the Laura Ingalls Wilder Society. She enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children, Gary (Jane) Byington of Pepin, WI, June (Tim Smith) Bosley of Ellsworth, WI, Charles (Nancy) Byington of Longmont, CO, Lana (Robert) Newcomb of Pepin, WI; twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, 8 great- great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son; Robin Byington; daughter, Faye Byington; daughter-in-law, Mary Byington; brother, Richard; sisters, Marie Olson, Loretta Thomas and infant sister Clara.

Memorial Services will 11:00 am Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pepin with Pastor Karna Marks officiating.
