Jackie Herbst Obituary
Jacqueline "Jackie" Kay Herbst (75) of Arkansaw, WI died Friday, September 21, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 8, 1943 in Durand, WI; daughter of Glenn and Ida (DeMarce) Myers.
She attended a one room school in Porcupine and later graduated from the Arkansaw High School. After graduation she attained her associate's degree in accounting.
On February 27, 1961 she married Brent Herbst at the Porcupine Church. Jackie enjoyed raising her family and later taught special needs children at the United Methodist Church in Arkansaw for eight years. She then worked in the social services department at Oakview Care Center in Durand for eighteen years. As well as helping Brent with his Schweigert business.
She enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, gardening and playing cards. She enjoyed convertible rides looking for round barns and thrift sales. She loved helping others and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Brent Herbst of Arkansaw, WI; daughter, Tammy Herbst (Karen Gould) of Menomonie, WI; son, Tim (Jill) Herbst of Arkansaw, WI; two grandchildren, Luke (Bailey Sherwin) Herbst and Lacey (Mike) Raiche; three great-grandchildren, Ryann and Kamrynn Raiche, Rainie Herbst; foster son, Lamonte; sisters, Janice (Vaughn) Girard and Jeanette (Dan) Richardson; brother, Don Myers ; brother-in-law, Dennis Dahl; sisters-in-law, Sandy Herbst and Judy Harmon; many nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Ida (DeMarce) Myers; brother, Clayton Myers; sisters, Charolotte Marcks and Iris Simonson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Vernon and Ruth Herbst; brothers-in-law, Scott Herbst and Denny Harmon; sister-in-law, Sherry Dahl.
Memorial services will be 11:00 am on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Arkansaw with Pastor Lisa Weaver officiating. Burial will be in the Arkansaw Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 -7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
