Louis Arland Komro Jr. (72) of Arkansaw, WI died Monday, October 20, 2014 at Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand, WI. He was born July 17, 1942 in Dunn County, WI; son of Louis B. and Mamie (Arndt) Komro. Louis graduated from Arkansaw High School. Following graduation he entered and served in the United States Army.
After returning from the service Louis worked on the home farm, milking cows and hauling can milk. On July 5, 1969 he married Phyllis Johnson at the Calvary Covenant Church in Stockholm, WI. Louis worked construction and later drove bulk truck. He was always willing to help friends with their farming when they needed help. He continued farming until his health prevented him from doing so.
He enjoyed watching Kurt's garden grow, canning, deer hunting and sitting by the campfire in the yard. He loved his dogs and loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Komro; sons, Kurt (Karin), Kyle, Kory; sisters, Deleda Keys (friend, Jon Mayer), Denise (Larry) Helmueller, all of Arkansaw, WI. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Mamie (Arndt) Komro; infant brother, Lynnwood.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Arkansaw with Pastor Lisa Weaver officiating. Burial with Military rites will be held at the Arkansaw Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand is assisting the family.
