Marcella M. Leflay

Marcella Marie Leflay (73) of Ellsworth, formerly of Pepin, WI, died Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the Brotoloc Cedar House in Ellsworth, WI. She was born May 17, 1939 in Pepin, WI; daughter of Marvin and Hallie (Davis) Leflay. She attended country school in Pepin and helped on the family farm. In 1978, she moved to the Strom Group Home in Ellsworth and attended the Pierce Development Center until 1989, at which time she went to Interstate Rehabilitation Center in Red Wing, MN, for work services. She loved working there with her roommate and best friend, Violet Pehlke, who preceded her in death. Marcella enjoyed bowling, music, drinking coffee and visiting with everyone. She will be missed by her house mates, Mary, Linda, Bev, Della and the staff.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Carol Leflay of Harrison, AK; nephews, Michael (Pat) Leflay of Oakdale, MN and Tim Leflay of Marble Falls, AK; niece, Lori (Ron Fisher) Leflay of Coon Rapids, MN and her many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Hallie (Davis) Leflay; two brothers, Virgil "Buddy" and Roger; one sister, Phyllis.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2012 at the Cross Road Community Church in Ellsworth, WI with Pastor Matt Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin, WI in the spring. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand is assisting the family.
