Margaret Olson Obituary
Margaret Orvilla Olson (106) of the Home Place in Mondovi, WI passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation in Eau Claire, WI. She was born August 31, 1906 in Nelson Township, Buffalo County, WI; daughter of Ole and Anna Nelson Olson.
She attended Burnside School and graduated from the Union Free High School at Nelson. Following high school she attended the Buffalo Co. Teachers College in Alma, WI. She taught in rural schools for 7 years after which she went home to help on the family farm. Once a dairy operation, her home farm is now the site of the Stone Barn- an artisan pizza restaurant.
Margaret was baptized and confirmed at Lyster Lutheran Church, rural Nelson. She was active in church activities, especially enjoyed teaching Sunday school and singing in the church choir.
Margaret is survived by many cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ole and Anna Nelson Olson; brother, Christ Olson; sister, Hannah Anderson and brother-in-law, Clifford; aunt, Christie Olson; cousin, Melvin Olson.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Lyster Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Vetsch officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Music will be provided by organist, Gertrude Quarberg and soloist, Lois Reinhardt. Casket bearers will be: Paul Reinhardt, Jerald Quarberg, David Mikelson, Kevin Reinhardt, Jan Quarberg and Derold McDonough. Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand is assisting the family.
