Mary Ann DeLong

Mary Ann DeLong, age 95, of Plum City, formerly of Durand, died on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Plum City Care Center. She was born on March 3, 1923 in Maxville Township to Henry and Minne (Shilling) Halling. She came from a family of 18 children: nine girls and nine boys. She married Lester Boettcher of Milwaukee in 1940; they later divorced. They had two sons: Darrel and Wayne Boettcher. Mary Ann remarried Harrison C. DeLong of Elmwood and together they had one son: Daniel Harrison DeLong. Her husband passed away in 1999. Mary Ann worked at different cafes in Durand, at Dick's Red Owl Store for 1 ½ years, and at the Ben Franklin Store for 18 ½ years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed baking cakes for all of them and for the people who lived in her apartment building. Mary Ann was an avid crocheter and liked to do word find books. She will be deeply missed.
She leaves to mourn her passing: two sons, Wayne Boettcher of Durand and Daniel (Linda) DeLong of Durand; five grandchildren, Sam (Cheryl), Stacey, Brenda, Becky, and Wade (Brenda); eight great-grandchildren, Westley (Whitley), Connor (Kelsey), Samantha, Kassandra, Chase, Ashley, Tyler, Jordon, and Erin; brother, Hubert (Barb) Halling of Durand; sister-in-law, Florence Halling of Eau Claire; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison C. DeLong; son, Darrel Boettcher; parents, Henry and Minnie Halling; daughter-in-law, Molly Boettcher; eight sisters, Rose Moore, Elsie Reick, Iva Ellis, Esther Halling, Leona Halling, Loretta Halling, Lillian Salvey; and Margaret Almstad; and eight brothers, Ed, Harry, Walter, Guy, Robert, Henry Jr., LeRoy, and Frank Halling.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at Goodrich Funeral Home Durand, with Pastor Dan Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery in Eau Galle.
