Nancy Lou Carothers (77) of Durand, WI died Saturday, April 14, 2018 at her beloved family farm in Maxville Township. She was born July 27, 1940 on the family farm; daughter of Walter Benjamin and Leone (Price) Komro.
She graduated from Durand High School in 1958. She received an associate's degree in computer science from Inver Hills Community College. Nancy worked at 3M, retiring after over thirty years. Nancy served on the Maxville Town Board. She was a published genealogist as well. She loved gardening and flowers. She also loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her beloved husband of twenty years, Allen Carothers; children, Dan (Penny) Komro of Woodbury, MN, Paul (Kim) Komro of Cottage Grove, MN, Lisa (Dave) Fleming of Floyds Knobs, IN, Bill (Wendy) Carothers, Dale (Stacey) Carothers and Steve (Michelle) Carothers, all of Durand, WI; grandchildren, Pete (Kim) Fleming, Andrew (Lindsey) Fleming, Eric (Rebekkah) Komro, Alex Komro, Kyle Komro, Kayla, Kari, Katie, Austin, Brooke, Brody and Joslin Carothers; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Emma, Jack and baby Fleming, Ronnie and Rylie Fleming, Hayden Komro; brother, John Benjamin; sister, Joan Benjamin; brother-in-law, Alan Gentilli; nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter (Clara) Benjamin and Leone (Edward) Komro; brother, Peter (Donna) Benjamin and sister, Cleo Gentilli.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the Durand United Methodist Church with Pastor Grace Baldridge officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Maxville Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
