Pamela M. Linse (65) passed away on July 10, 2014 at The Home Place in Mondovi after her long struggle with multiple sclerosis. Her loving family was with her but her son Darin said his goodbyes by phone from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Ermites, before booking a flight to the USA.
Pam was born on November 30, 1948, daughter of Willard and Maxine (Moline) Johnson. She began school at the Barry Corner School, continuing at Pepin Area Schools where she graduated in 1966.
She attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, earning a teaching degree. She joined the faculty at Pepin High School and was on staff for 29 years. Along with her classes she was a forensic coach and advisor for the National Honor Society. She was responsible for engaging the Sunrise Club of Eau Claire to provide the "Freedom Shrine" on a wall in Pepin's new school building.
She was baptized and confirmed at the Sabylund Lutheran Church. On December 30, 1967 she was united in marriage to Robert Linse. They lived in the Durand area before moving to their hobby farm near Pam's childhood home and church. It was a happy time for them as they raised their family and commuted to their jobs nearby.
Pam and Bob enjoyed many outdoor activities together; fishing, camping, snowmobiling and motorcycling. They also enjoyed weekend getaways and travel. Special trips for them were a visit with Ryan and Renee at Whidbey Island, Washington while Ryan served in the US Navy and they also traveled to Hawaii for a visit with Darin while he was serving with the US Marines. In 1997 she accompanied her parents and a niece on a trip to Sweden.
She is survived by her sons, Ryan (Renee) of rural Maiden Rock and Darin (Francia) of Abu Dhabi, UAE; parents, Willard and Maxine Johnson of Pepin; brother, Lynn (Katie) Johnson of rural Pepin; special aunt, Audrey Johnson of rural Stockholm; three grandchildren, Tristan, Alicanne and Kaden Linse; nephews, Nick Linse and Preston Johnson; niece, Rachel Gens and Leisha Long; great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, grandparents, parents-in-law, numerous aunts, uncles and many friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Sabylund Lutheran Church in Lund with Rev. D. Sandahl officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 pm at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
