ROBERT W. JAHNKE
Robert William Peter Jahnke (91) of Pepin died on July 20, 2012 at the Pepin Manor. He was born May 9, 1921 in Pepin, Wisconsin. Son of Benjamin and Louisa (Stoltenberg) Jahnke. He attended Hicks Valley school and graduated from Durand High school in 1939. On March 15, 1947 Robert married Dorothy Wohlferd at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pepin, Wisconsin. They lived on the home farm for 68 years. In 1988 they retired and moved into Pepin. Dorothy passed away June 9, 2004. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Pepin.
He is survived by one son, Alan Jahnke of Welch, MN; two daughters, Janice (Ron) Campbell of Bruce, WI , Teresa (Joseph) Payzant of San Tan Valley, AZ; two grandchildren, Rachel Payzant and Michael Payzant, both of San Tan Valley, AZ; nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy; parents; Benjamin and Louisa Jahnke; infant brother, Howard and brother, Laurence Jahnke.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 am Friday, July 27, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pepin. Pastor Karna Baseman officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church. Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church or charities of choice. Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand is assisting the family
