Ruby Westerberg Obituary
Ruby Rose Westerberg (94) of Stockholm, WI went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Ellsworth, WI. She was born January 22, 1922 on a cold winter's night in rural Stockholm to Reuben and Hilda (Johnson) Sundvall. She attended the Pleasant Corner School. Following school she worked for Dr. & Mrs. Henry Rohrer, the Lund Telephone Company and many neighbors near and far.
On March 15, 1947 she married Cecil Westerberg; they farmed in rural Stockholm for many years. Cecil passed away in 1983.
Ruby enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, taking care of animals. She also enjoyed doing embroidery work and crocheting many afghans and doilies. In 1988 she learned to do oil paintings and painted many beautiful paintings.
She is survived by her son, Mark (Diane) Westerberg of Stockholm, WI; daughter, Yvonne (Curtis) Hince of Stockholm, WI; grandchildren, Carrie Arens, Joelle and Sarah Westerberg; great-grandchildren, Ally, Matthew, Cole & Aaron. She is preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Hilda (Johnson) Sundvall, husband, Cecil Westerberg; sister, Ethel Peters and brother, Marlin Sundvall.
A private family burial will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin, WI. Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand, WI is assisting the family. To express on-line condolences visit obituaries at www.goodrichfh.com
