Sharon Kaempf Obituary
Sharon "Sheri" Diane Kaempf (80) of Durand, WI died Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at her home. She was born July 6, 1938 in Spring Creek, WI; daughter of Darrel and Laura (Soden) Wekkin. She graduated from Durand High School.
In December of 1955 she married Robert Plummer and together they had seven children. They later divorced. On February 13, 1982 she married Danny Kaempf.
She worked in the field of health care, including the Durand Hospital and Piety Nursing Home in Ellsworth. In the 1980's she started her catering company, X-tra Touch. She retired early and cared for and spent loving time with her parents.
Sheri was a member of the Durand United Methodist Church. Her faith meant everything to her. Sheri loved baking, cooking and gardening. She loved her dachshunds. She enjoyed watching NCIS and Blue Bloods (to see Mark Harmon and Tom Selleck!). She always cared about her looks and particularly loved shoes and purses.
But family mattered above all. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was fiercely loyal and protective of her family.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Danny Kaempf of Durand; her children, Laura (Greg) Zrust of St. Paul, MN, Becky Rogers of Plattville, WI, Kathy (Joe) Betzel of River Falls, WI, Jeff ( Lisa) Plummer of Ellsworth, WI, Joe (Mary) Plummer also of Ellsworth, WI , Darla (Mike) Mihalik of Kewanna, IN, Nona (Paul) Tomas of Hager City, WI; 24 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Darrel "Jerry" (Ginny) Wekkin and Victor "Rick" (Linda) Wekkin; many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Darrel and Laura (Soden) Wekkin; sister, Bobbie Jo Wekkin.
Memorial services will be 11:00 am on Monday, February 4, 2019 at the Durand United Methodist Church with Pastor Grace Baldridge officiating. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 pm on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.
