Wayne Cataract Obituary
Wayne Alfred Cataract (85) of Arkansaw, WI died Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Pepin Manor in Pepin, WI. He was born July 6, 1932 in Frankfort Township, Pepin County, WI; son of William and Edith (King) Cataract. He attended school in Arkansaw. Following school he served in the National Guard.
On March 22, 1952 he married Arlene Hubbard in Carryville, WI. Wayne worked various jobs; including Durand Canning Factory, mining in Black River Falls, roofing and painting. Later he owned and operated Chippewa Valley Salvage and Recycling. He loved to fish along with woodworking, hunting and trapping.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene of Arkansaw; ten children, Steve (Lisa Vasser) of Elmwood, WI, Lonnie (Gladys) of River Falls, WI, Mike (Sheila Schniner) of Durand, WI, Randy of Durand, WI, Bill (Bessie) of Durand, WI, David (Rachael) of Red Wing, MN, Debbie of Savannah, GA, Bob (Patricia) of Durand, WI, Tonya (Ron Bibeau) of Baldwin, WI, Edith (Matt) Wagner of Arkansaw, WI; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Darlene LaBrec of Menomonie, WI.
He is preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Raymond; sons, Mark and Gary; granddaughter, Stephanie Rathbun; grandson, Kelly and son-in-law, Rick Anderson.
Memorial services will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at the Community of Christ Church in Arkansaw, WI with Pastor Dan Richardson officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Arkansaw Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand, WI is assisting the family.
