William Breitung Obituary
William Leon Breitung (88) of Pepin, WI died Monday, November 7, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. He was born December 31, 1927 in Pepin, WI; son of Raymond and Lucille (Marcks) Breitung. Bill graduated from Pepin High School. Following graduation he served in the United States Army.
On May 10, 1952 he married Patricia Herbison in Plum City, WI. He worked for Holman Erection as an iron worker for 37 years. With his work they traveled throughout the South and Mid-West, before moving back to Pepin in 1957. Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading Westerns and watching the Packers.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Breitung of Pepin, WI; four children, Cynthia Gwinn (Will Bryant) of Eau Claire, WI, LuAnn (Michael) Tolliver of Minnetonka, MN, Larry (Kristie) Breitung of Belle Plain, MN, Patti (Rick) Gould of Spring Valley, WI; five grandchildren, Brandon Tolliver of Orono, MN, Cory Tolliver of Minnetonka, MN, Spencer Tolliver of Minnetonka, MN, Alyssa Gould of Columbia, SC and Rex Gould of St. Paul, MN; sister-in-law, Ruth Breitung of Alma, WI. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Darrell and Bernard Breitung; sisters, Raye Cudnik and Rozanne Hoffman.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand, WI with Pastor Dan Richardson officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Lions Club in Pepin from 1:00-3:00 pm on Saturday.
