William Keeler Obituary
William John Keeler (88) of Arkansaw, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Plum City Care Center. He was born October 9, 1924 in Waterville Township, Pepin County, WI; son of William and Bessie (La Pean) Keeler Patnode. He attended Big Arkansaw School and graduated from Arkansaw High School in 1943.
On June 7, 1950 Bill married Jane Ann Dunbar in Durand, WI. Bill farmed until 1966 when he started at the Pepin County Highway Department where he worked for twenty-three years with heavy machinery.
Bill was a big fan of baseball especially the Milwaukee Braves / Brewers. He enjoyed gardening, horse shoes, bowling, playing cards and spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed traveling, site-seeing and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Jane Ann Keeler of Arkansaw, WI; son, James Keeler (Diane Forster) of La Crosse, WI; daughters, Nancy (Dan) Peterson of Durand, WI and Betty Keeler of Arkansaw, WI; three grandchildren, Keven (Jennifer) Keeler of Phoenix, AZ, Lee Ann Keeler of Portland, Oregon and Justin Watts of Murchison, TX; two great-grandchildren, Alexxander Keeler and Novalie Watts; three brothers, Bernard (Doris Fuller) Keeler of Red Wing, MN, Giles (Marge) Patnode of Minnesota, Warren (Lorraine) Patnode of Durand, WI; two sisters, Gwelda Glaus of Durand, WI and Fern (Gene) Ingalls of Minnesota; sister-in-law, Evelyn Keeler of Rosemont, MN; nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters, Marie Ingalls, Ruth Klein, Mildred Berger, Margaret Glaus, Isabel Berger and one brother, Phillip Keeler.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Community of Christ Church in Arkansaw with Pastor Dan Richardson officiating.
