William Mountin Obituary
William Edward Mountin (82) of Pepin died Friday, February 17, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. He was born August 22, 1929 in Lake City, Minnesota; son of Charles and Ethel McNeal Mountin. He attended Lincoln School in Lake City. Following school he joined the United States Army and served in the 82nd Airborne stationed in Italy. Bill was a member of the VFW in Wabasha, MN. He was also a member of the Maiden Rock American Legion Post #158.
March 19, 1949 he married Thora "Bubbles" Breitung in St. Paul, Minnesota. They lived all their married life in Pepin. Thora died December 28, 2004. Bill worked for Pepin County Highway department for seven years. He then worked for the Pepin County Sheriff's department for thirty plus years as a road officer and then Chief Deputy.
Bill was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed fishing, country music and traveling. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the Pepin Sportsman Club in Pepin. Military rites will be presented by the Maiden Rock American Legion Post #158 at 4:00 p.m. Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand is assisting the family.
