Wilma Brion Obituary

Wilma I. Brion (96) of Durand, WI passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home in Elmwood, WI. She was born January 8, 1918 in the Town of Washington, Eau Claire County, WI; daughter of Earl & Emma (Kappus) Hewitt. She was raised in Durand and attended Durand schools. Following school Wilma cleaned for people in the Durand area. On September 30, 1939 she married Leonard M. Brion at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They lived in Durand all their married lives. Wilma helped out at the Newell & Brown Hardware store part-time. Leonard passed away in April 1984. Wilma enjoyed cooking and baking. She enjoyed spending the winters in Southern California with her son, and visiting with her daughter, son-in-law and grandson, Alex and later with her great-grandchildren, Alexia & Alex Jr. in Michigan.
She is survived by her son, Robert "Bob" Brion of Durand, WI; daughter, Patricia (Al) Boyd of West Olive, MI; grandson, Alexander (Tangela) Boyd of Indianapolis, IN; great-grandchildren, Alexia & Alex Jr. Boyd, Matthias & Brianna Page of Louisville, KY, Keshira Hopkins, DeShaun Boyd, Mateo, Kassidy, Gaige Crawford of Indianapolis, IN; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; parents, Earl & Emma (Kappus) Hewitt; brothers, Walter and Francis; sisters, Minnie Larson, Henrietta Dadisman and Olive Phelps; one great-grandchild, Leila Crawford.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Monday, November 3, 2014 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Durand with Pastor Daniel Pfaffe officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
