Arthur Adam DeLong

Arthur Adam DeLong (89) of Durand, WI died Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Eau Claire, WI. He was born April 7, 1933 in Rock Elm Township, Pierce County, WI; son of  Archie and Nellie (Bundy) DeLong.

After school, Art worked on various farms around the area, working construction jobs, and ended his career with Dairyland Power. 

On September 4, 1954 he married Donnis Hoyt at Grainge Hall. Together, they had 7 children and settled into a home that Art built between Durand and Nelson. He had many hobbies and interests, including camping and fishing, playing cards and the game aggravation, polka dances, and watching old westerns. He enjoyed woodworking and building things; one Christmas building a doll house or barn for each of his grandchildren. 

He is survived by his  six children, Dawn DeLong, Darwin (Annette) DeLong, Debra (Tom) O’Keefe, Darla DeLong, Adam DeLong, and Alan (Tonya) DeLong; 17 grandchildren, Beth (Tyler), Corey (Samantha), Troy (Allison), Amber (Tony), Luke, TJ, Travis, Crystal (Brandon), Justin, Damon (Janine), Brittany (Tom), Gunner (Alisha), Trinity, Dakota, Dylan, Taylin, and Ela; 22 great grandchildren, Leo, Lauren, Austin, Lexi, Brayden, Lyla, Beau, Brett, Coye, Griffen, Beckham, Christian, Harlen, Haisley, Kadin, Avery, Zac, Silahs, Findlay, Xander, Danny, and Bracken; 2 great-great granddaughters; sister, Cleo Russell; brother, Virgil DeLong; many nieces, nephews, and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Nellie (Bundy) DeLong; wife, Donnis; son David; son-in-law, Timothy Birtzer; brother, Junior DeLong.
