David LeRoy Peters, 70, of Pepin, WI died Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Advent Health in Durand, WI. He was born October 21, 1952 in Wabasha, MN; son of Wallace and Mildred (Anderson) Peters.
He graduated from Pepin High School in 1970. He enjoyed playing football, basketball and baseball during his high school years. After high school, he played on the Pepin town baseball team and also league softball for the Pepin Hotel team.
Following high school Dave worked at Meyer Industries in Hager City, WI. He then owned and operated the A&W Root Beer Stand, Theater and Rec Hall in Pepin for a few years.
On August 28, 1982 he married Maureen Kahl at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pepin, WI. They purchased a farm, where they have lived all their married life, and where they raised their three daughters. He thoroughly enjoyed all their sporting and extra-curricular events. Becoming Grandpa was a highlight of his life. He loved spending time and playing with the grand children.
Dave was a farmer and school bus driver in Pepin for over 35 years. He especially loved kids and animals. He loved telling jokes, and really enjoyed teasing his family. His grin would say it all.
He enjoyed watching sporting events for the Badgers, Packers, Brewers, Bucks and NASCAR (fan of Matt Kenseth). Dave also enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, bird watching and playing cards (cribbage and smear).
He is survived and will be missed dearly by his wife, Maureen Peters of Pepin, WI; three daughters, Amanda (Lance) Pronschinske of Fall Creek, WI, Krista (Trapper) Burmeister of Pepin, WI, Hanna Peters (fiance, Joshua Molter) of Fond Du Lac, WI; four grandchildren, Peter and Lukas Pronschinske, Dakota and Sienna Burmeister; brothers, Mark Peters and Jason (Dorothy) Peters, both of Pepin, WI; sisters, LaVonne Heitman of Osceola, WI, Karen Oberding of Welch, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Mildred (Anderson) Peters; infant son, James David Peters; brother, Albert Peters; sister and brother-in-law, Ramona and Jack Hinga; sister-in-law, Susan Peters; brothers-in-law, Dale Heitman and Jim Oberding.
Funeral services will be 11 am at Lund Mission Covenant Church with Pastor Darren Catron officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday, July 26th. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin, WI.
