David Michael Werlein

David Michael Werlein Sr., 73, of Durand, WI passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI. He was born July 3, 1948 in Mondovi, WI; son of Henry and Gladys (Berger) Werlein.

He attended school in Gilmanton. Following school, he married Lucinda Ableidinger. They later divorced. On July 2, 1983 Dave married Barb Talle in Drammen Township.

Dave was a laborer; he worked as an auto mechanic and did general construction at various companies in the area.

He enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, golf, old western movies, and classic car shows. Dave enjoyed shooting pool, playing cards, spending time outside, and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, working on cars with his son, and fixing things for his daughters.

He is survived by his wife, Barb; children, Dave Werlein Jr., Lisa Norris, Michelle (Jason) Snow, Mandy (Perry) Cloud, and Erica Werlein; six grandchildren, Darin Werlein, Jake, Christopher, and Cody Norris, Troy Cloud, and Autumn Snow; four great-grandchildren; his mother, Gladys Bonesteel; siblings, Cheryl, Dan, Mark, Marie, Cindy, Bonnie, Bob, and Rod; many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Henry Werlein; step-father, Rodger Bonesteel; siblings, Barb, Bobby and Carolee.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 13, 2021 at the Durand United Methodist Church with Pastor Grace Baldridge officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Durand.

Flowers may be sent to the United Methodist Church; however, memorial donations are appreciated. Masks and social distancing are recommended at the church but not required.
