Judith Martha (Risser) Peterson

Judith Martha Peterson, (83) of “Little Plum” Frankfort Township, Pepin Co., WI; died Friday, May 21, 2021 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire, WI. She was born May13, 1938 in Minneapolis, MN; daughter of William and Olive (Tormon) Risser.

Judy graduated from Roosevelt High School. Following graduation, she attended the University of Minnesota and received a degree in business.

On August 9, 1969 she married Arthur “Sod” Peterson in Minneapolis, MN. They farmed on the Peterson family farm in Little Plum. Later Judy and Arthur moved to Ella.

Judy loved the farm, playing word games, collecting wood carvings and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Paul Peterson of Cadott, WI; Peter (Jennifer) Peterson of Pepin, WI; two grandchildren, Phineas and Liam; nieces, Kathy and Chrissy; nephew, Rick. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; parents, William and Olive (Tormon) Risser; sister, Dorothy Gatlin; nephew, Kenny.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 11, 2021 at the Arkansaw Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Dan Richardson officiating. Following the graveside service a Celebration of Life will be held at the Arkansaw Community Center from 3:00 – 6:00 PM. Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand, WI is assisting the family.
