Loretta Joy (Bergner) Hillestad

Loretta Joy Hillestad, 87, of Durand, WI died Saturday, October 9, 2021 at the Plum City Care Center. She was born April 13, 1934 in Durand, WI; daughter of Gustav and Ruby (Longsdorf) Bergner.

She graduated from Durand High School. On July 23, 1955 she married Alroy Hillestad of Urne, WI in Mason City, IA.

Loretta worked various jobs before staying home to raise her family. She loved taking care of people and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Rodney (Kathie) of Caladonia, WI, Thomas (Tami) of West Salem, WI, Robert (Lisa) of Oak Creek, WI; Randy (Mary Sue) of Durand, WI; seven grandchildren, David, Kit, Lee, Jake, Allie, Jacquelyn and Gus; brother, Wilbur Bergner; sister, Ruby Hutter, many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alroy; son, Jerry; parents, Gustav and Ruby (Longsdorf) Bergner; sisters, Phyliss Lane, Chris Kitelinger, Virginia Bergner; and brother, Wayne Bergner.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand, WI with Pastor Dan Richardson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Round Hill Cemetery in Waterville Township, Pepin County, WI.
