Loretta Seifert Obituary
Loretta Ardell Seifert (82) of Pepin, WI passed away Friday, January 2, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN. She was born September 28, 1932 in Rock Elm, WI; daughter of Norman & Lena (White) Hanvelt. They moved to Elmwood where she started school. When she was 9 they moved back to Rock Elm. She finished her 8th grade there. She attended high school at Elmwood. She finished 3 years of school when she met Loren R. Seifert. They became engaged on May 6, 1950 and were married August 26, 1950 at the Pepin Methodist Church. They adopted 4 children. They lived in Pepin until July, 1968, when they moved to Hager City, WI. She worked at Jostens for a year in Red Wing, MN, at St. James Hotel in Red Wing as a cook for 2 years, and at Old Fashion Foods in Red Wing for 6 years. Later she and Loren worked at Treasure Island Resort & Casino in the Trade Winds Restaurant for 7 years. She retired in 1996. In 2004 Loren & Loretta moved back to Pepin, WI. Loren died December 13, 2014. Loretta was a member of United Methodist Church in Pepin.
She is survived by two sons, Randy Seifert of Red Wing, Thomas (Gayle) Seifert of Hager City; two daughters, Debra Weirtz of Red Wing, Dawn Enevold of Ellsworth; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many beloved nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Loren; parents, Norman & Lena (White) Hanvelt; step-mother, Edith Hanvelt and sister, Vanetta Thompson.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Pepin United Methodist Church with Pastor Lisa Weaver officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin.
