Patricia Ann (Lathrop) Blair

Patricia Ann Blair, 99, of Durand, WI died Monday, December 11, 2023 at Our House Assisted Living in Chippewa Falls, WI. She was born January 1, 1924 in Bemidji, MN; daughter of Ward and Irene (Bergin) Lathrop.

She attended school in Columbia Heights, MN. Following graduation, she worked at Donaldson’s as a phone operator.

On June 18, 1945 she married Bob Blair in Columbia Heights. After marriage they resided in Durand, where Pat stayed home to raise their family. In the early 1960’s, Pat worked as a legal secretary for John Bartholomew and later for Dane Morey. Later working for the Dean of Education at UW-Stout, where she worked for over twenty years. After her retirement from Stout she continued to prepare tax returns for many years.

Pat was a Girl Scout leader, member of St. Mary’s Altar Society, and she help start the Maria Gioretti Group for St. Mary’s in Durand.

She enjoyed traveling, doing crafts and spending time at their cabin in Chicog. She also enjoyed camping and road trips with her sisters.

Pat is survived by her children, Carol Shoemaker, Jim (Sue) Blair, Don (Sue) Blair, Jane Blair, Mary (Mark) Byrns, and Mike Blair; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Blair; parents, Ward and Irene (Bergin) Lathrop; three sisters, Renee, Mary and Rita.

 A Funeral Mass will be 11:00 am on Monday, December 18, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Shell Lake, WI. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Northern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
