Peter Fossum Obituary
Peter J. Fossum (74) of Rock Falls died Monday, March 30, 2015 at home with his family by his side. He was born July 31, 1940 in Meridean, WI; son of John and Gyda (Froystad) Fossum. He graduated from Durand High School. Following graduation he attended UW-Eau Claire. Peter worked in Racine, WI and in California for a few years. He then returned to the Rock Falls area and started farming with his brother, Otis.
On April 3, 1970 he married Sharon Mayer at Faith Lutheran Church in Durand. Sharon died on August 4, 2009. Peter enjoyed socializing with family and friends at the coffee shop, restoring old tractors and helping people. He loved making people laugh and getting people together at his man cave.
He is survived by his son, Nelson (fiance' Michelle Peterson) Fossum of Mondovi, WI; daughters, Erika (Rondell) Hybben of Knapp, WI, Jill (Keith) Bergeson of Colfax, WI; grandchildren, Kari and Rondell Hybben, Jackson and Carson Fossum, Alyda and Nicholas Bergeson; brothers, Otis (Winifred) Fossum and Eric Fossum, both of Rock Falls, WI,; sisters, Carol (Richard) Joles of Eau Claire, WI, Nona (Ervin) Seem of Menomonee Falls, WI; brother-in-law, James Halverson of Universal City, TX; sister-in-law, Donna Elwood of Rochester, NY; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Oscar. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon; infant daughter, Jody Lynn Fossum; parents, John and Gyda (Froystad) Fossum; brothers, Sigvald, Ingvald and Gunvald Froystad; and sister, Joanne Halverson.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand, WI with Pastor Michelle Nickodemus officiating. Burial will be at the Rock Creek-Meridean Cemetery.
