Rhonda Alice (Wood) Berger

Rhonda Alice Berger, 59, of Durand, WI passed away September 12, 2023 surrounded by family at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Eau Claire, WI after a valiant fight against kidney cancer. She was born October 18, 1963 in Menomonie, WI; daughter of Arnold and Luann (Hoyt) Wood. 

She attended Durand High School and later graduating from CVTC in Eau Claire, WI with an Administrative Assistant degree. She however went back to doing what she loved, cooking and bartending. She worked at various local establishments over the years where she met many close friends. The most notable establishment being Corral Bar and Riverside Grill. 

On June 1, 1996 she married the love of her life Darrell Berger at the Community of Christ Church in Arkansaw, WI. Those vows were again confirmed on June 5, 2021 at their vow renewal ceremony. 

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends above all else. She loved to be a nurturer. She wanted to make sure everyone knew they had her support and love, but also tell you her honest opinion no matter what. Her advice and one-liners were unmatched. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, camping, watching sports, traveling and any activity that would place her outside. 

She is survived by her husband, Darrell Berger of Durand; daughters, Becky Wood (Ryan) of Eau Claire; Marissa Berger (Tanner) of Strum; Jamie (Joe) Glasel of Salem Lakes; grandchildren, Axel, Annie, Evan, Emrie; mother, Luann Wood; brothers, Tim, Tom (Kim), Arnold Jr. (Alisha), David, Ricky, Randy (Brenda), and Brad; as well as many special nieces and nephews that she loved like her own. 

She is preceded in death by her father Arnold Wood. As well as both maternal and paternal grandparents. 

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Orton Room at Corral Bar and Riverside Grill on October 21, 2023 from 2-6 pm. An assortment of food and beverages will be provided, Rhonda never wanted anyone to go hungry.
