Richard "Dick" Silberhorn Obituary

Richard “Dick” Jay Silberhorn, 69, of Durand, WI died Saturday, March 9, 2024 at his home. He was born December 1, 1954 in Durand, WI; son of Carl and Donna (Coburn) Silberhorn.

He graduated from Durand High School in 1973.

Dick married Charlotte Jereczek. They were blessed with two sons, Tucker and Blu. Dick and Char later divorced.

He worked for Wayne Pallets for a year before he started working on barges. He worked as a deck hand and made his way up to Captain. He worked on barges for over thirty years, retiring in 2015.

Dick enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, watching sports, especially the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed cooking, eating a good meal and socializing.

He is survived by his sons, Tucker Silberhorn of Maiden Rock and Blu Silberhorn of Durand; brother, Michael (Lana) Silberhorn; sisters, Jill (Greg) Bauer and Kelly (Robert) Hess; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Donna (Coburn) Silberhorn; sister, Carla Odegard; brother, Mark Silberhorn; nephew, Jay Odegard.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
