Susan Kircher Obituary
Susan Louise "Susie" Kircher, age 69, of Pepin, died on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Methodist Campus in Rochester, MN. She was born on October 19, 1949 in Wabasha, MN to LaVerne and Ruby (Thompson) Steiner. She grew up on her family's farm in Alma. Susie graduated from Alma High School in 1967. She was united in marriage to Danny Kircher on January 27, 1968 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pepin. The couple made their home in Pepin and raised four sons: Lynn, Dale, Barry, and Ryan. They also ran Dan's Cash Store in Pepin for many years. Later on, Susie worked at the Hiawatha National Bank as a bank teller for many years. In her free time she loved to knit, travel, work in her garden, and visit with family and friends. Her family was the center of her life. She especially loved her grandchildren and attended many of their events. She will be deeply missed.
Susie is survived by her husband of 51 years, Danny Kircher; four sons, Lynn (Ellen) of Elmhurst, IL, Dale of Pepin, Barry of Pepin, and Ryan Kircher of Eau Claire; ten grandchildren; one great-grandson; seven siblings, Linda (Terry) Loesel of Alma, Lois Gerth of Buffalo City, Janet (Dennis) Reinhardt of Osseo, Cindy (Jim) Finley of Bloomington, MN, Patsy Dillon of Bloomington, MN, Dave Steiner of Alma, and Jim Steiner of Alma; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, LaVerne and Ruby Steiner and two brothers, Dean and Paul Steiner.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Lund Mission Covenant Church with Pastor Darren Catron officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, January 9 at Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand and again at the church for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
