Violet Newcomb Obituary
Violet Kay Newcomb (60) of Wheeler, WI died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 upon arrival at Mayo Health Systems in Menomonie, WI. She was born October 3, 1953 in Durand, WI; daughter of Elwin and Lorraine (Swanson) Smith. She attended Durand High School.
On October 6, 1969 she married Terry Newcomb in Pepin, WI. They lived in the Pepin area until moving to St. Paul, MN in the late 80's. Violet worked as a silk screener for over twenty years at Lakeside LTD in New Hope, MN. Violet and Terry moved to Wheeler, WI in 2006. Violet enjoyed camping, going to the races, baking pies and making big holiday meals for her family. Violet loved to spend time with her family and doing things to make her family happy.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Newcomb Sr. of Wheeler, WI; children, Terry (Cachina Daratsianakis) Newcomb Jr. of Eau Claire, WI, Robert (Misty Boyer) of Altoona, WI, John Newcomb of Altoona, WI, Tammy (Brian) Buerkle of Menomonie, WI, William Newcomb of Bloomer, WI; fifteen grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Dave) Peterson of Cape Coral, FL, Ila Brantner of Durand, WI; brother, Elwyn "Butch" Smith of Durand, WI; brothers and sisters-in-law, Elmer Newcomb, Keith (Jenny) Newcomb, Bill (Beatrice) Newcomb, John (Linda) Newcomb, Bob (Laura) Newcomb, Erna (Jos) Borsma, Michael Brantner; many nieces, nephews and other relatives. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elwin and Lorraine (Swanson) Smith; sister, Ellen Brantner; 2nd pop, Michael Hartung.
