Wilbur Merle Bergner

Wilbur Merle Bergner (Willie), 90, of Durand, WI died Monday, October 11,2021 at Advent Health in Durand, WI. He was born October 1,1931 in Durand. WI; son of Gustav and Ruby (Longsdorf) Bergner.

He attended Durand Schools. In 1950, he went into the Air Force and stationed in England. He was honorable discharged December 1953. Willie married Dorothy Lehman August 1956 in Durand.  They lived in Durand.  Dorothy passed away November 1959.

On February 11, 1961 he married Shirley Loomis in Iowa.  They lived in Mondovi for a year before moving to Durand.  Shirley passed away March 2008.

Willie worked several jobs during his career including Glaus Construction, Goodrich Lumber, Jackson Lumber Harvester and Mayo Clinic.

He enjoyed bowling, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his sons, Scott (Tisha) of Urne, WI, Todd (Melody Peterson) of Durand, WI, Jame (Lisa) of Durand, WI; daughters, Roxe-Ann Bauer of Durand, WI, Laurie Brantner of Rock Falls, WI, Jeanine Amundson (Brian Weisenbeck) of Durand, WI,  Lonna (Rick) Brantner of Rock Falls,WI; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Ruby Hutter, Arkansaw; many nieces and nephews

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Bergner, wife Shirley Bergner; parents, Gustav and Ruby (Longsdorf) Bergner; sisters, Phyllis Lane, Christie Kitelinger, Virginia Bergner, Loretta Hillestad; and brother, Wayne Bergner.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Durand United Methodist Church with Pastor Grace Baldridge officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.  Burial with Military Honors will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Durand, WI.
